Model Cars Instead of Candy in Easter Baskets
Toy stores are promoting healthful alternatives to candy-filled Easter baskets.
At Learning Express, parents can pick out $20 worth of toys, choose a colorful bucket to hold them and have the bucket personalized (for free) with their child's name.
KB Toys suggests themed Easter "baskets" matching your child's interests:
Art: Fill a beach pail with crayons, modeling clay, paint and jewelry-making sets.
Action figures: Start with a "Star Wars" helmet and fill it with "Star Wars" heroes or "Spider-Man" action figures.
Barbies: Fill a doll carrier with a Barbie Fairytopia doll and accessories.
Diecast cars: Pile a plastic dump truck with Matchbox cars or figures from the "Cars" movie.
Polly Pocket: Use a beach pail to hold a variety of pint-size Polly Pocket dolls, accessories and sets.
